Personalized, patient-centered care.

Treatment Philosophy & Specialties

Personalized, patient-centered care is at the heart of my practice. As such, you are treated as an individual and I will strive to get to know you to deliver a thoughtful experience. During our sessions, we will have in-depth discussions regarding your unique history, current struggles, and personal preferences. This allows us to craft an evidence-based treatment plan that evolves over time.

I have experience treating adolescents and adults with a range of conditions and concerns. Treatment can take on a variety of forms, not just prescription medications. Recommendations may include exercise regimens, healthy diet, or non-prescription supplements. I can also provide talk therapy when appropriate. I strive to take a holistic view of each patient and create a tailored plan to help you achieve your goals.

Appointment Types

80-minute initial evaluation

During your first 80-minute appointment, we will work together to form an action plan to meet your goals and needs. This will involve getting to know you as a person and understanding who you are as an individual. I will listen carefully and conduct a thorough evaluation. At the end, I will share my thoughts and we will discuss treatment recommendations. Recommendations may include changes to your diet or exercise regimen, talk therapy, prescription medications, supplements, lab tests, or referrals to other doctors. If we decide to continue to work together after the first appointment, we will schedule a follow-up.

At times, and only with your permission, I will request to communicate with your current therapist, other doctors, or loved ones to discuss your care.

25-minute follow-up

During follow-up appointments, we will track your progress and discuss the goals we created during your initial evaluation. We can discuss medication adjustments, lifestyle changes, or just talk about what is new since your last appointment.

There is no predefined time between follow-up visits. Since each patient is unique, we will decide what works best for you and your specific needs.

Second-opinion evaluations

Upon Request

If you already see a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner, and would like a second opinion regarding your care, current medications, or overall treatment plan, I am available upon request. To perform a thorough second opinion, I will review your medical records, speak with current providers, conduct a full psychiatric evaluation, and write a detailed report.

Due to the nature of these cases, they are billed at a predetermined hourly rate.

Insurance

At this time, I do not accept insurance at my practice. Oftentimes, insurance companies create significant barriers to care that can affect our therapeutic relationship. By not taking insurance, I am able to offer a superior level of care and attention to my patients. That means no constraints in terms of the duration and frequency of appointments, and flexibility to create an individualized treatment plan that will best suit your needs. In addition, by not submitting claims to your insurance company, your care remains completely private.

If you have out-of-network benefits, you are welcome to submit claims to your insurance company. Many patients are able to receive partial or full reimbursements, depending on your specific out-of-network benefits. I can provide you with an invoice (a "superbill") to help with this process.
